Thank you for reading my blog; it is difficult during exam time in my office to discuss these business matters with you, so Midcoast Medicine has created this vehicle for me to discuss my Community Supported Healthcare practice with you. You’ll need to be as informed as possible about the choice facing you in the next few months. This will be a limited practice with 400 patients to start.
What is a CSH?
CSH: A primary healthcare delivery system in which its community members and physician share the common values necessary to promote quality health and well-being.
My CSH will allow you, my patients and members, to participate in a doctor-patient relationship that promotes far better health and well-being than can be attained in the current primary healthcare delivery system.
Please keep checking here, I will write new information each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!

Mary

Mary, I don't know what CSH is. IS it similar to community supported agriculture(CSA)? People buy a share of healthcare costs? I"LL check on your blog for clarification. Thanks, Nancy Huus
Mary,
I look forward to reading more about this approach medicine and the details of health care delivery and payment and how patients with insurance will be reimbursed.
Thanks,
Walter
Mary this sounds exciting and long overdue. Perhaps this will be a catalyst for change in the way healthcare services are delivered on a much larger scale.
As a nurse at Pen Bay and a patient of yours I can honestly say even in a traditional setting you have gone above and beyond for all of us. I look forward to this exciting new endeavor.
Interesting...I'm all for it.
Marie
Change although scary for most - can be the very thing that takes us from good to better! I am most curious about insurance coverage and/or whether you will still be within our plan. I sure would hate to have to find another doctor/friend for my health. You are such a blessing to me and have been for many years.
Grace,
Catherine
Mary,
As I support community supported agriculture, I imagine this may follow along the same principles. I totally value your way of delivering health care and I look forward to reading more about how you will create this system for your patients. Thank you for introducing a new approach - health centered- to health care!
Annette
This sounds like a great endeavor and I appreciate being a part of it!I value my relationship with you as my doctor and look forward to hearing more about the CSH on your blog. Opportunity for improvement is always a good thing!! Thanks for including me in your limited practice. Best of wishes, Debbie (Beamis) Millay
Mary, I too,am very excited to see an alternative to our current system. As was asked already on the blog I would be interested in the cost and would I be able to let go of my current health insurance program? Looking forward to hearing more....but I feel already like I would like to participate.--Robin B.
DR A:

But in reviewing 2008 - I see 6 visits, very hard to believe, and already that many in 2009 - hopes that gives you some useful info, see you soon PAtsy
